London cinema revives screen legends in vintage film season

One of London's most beloved cinemas is hosting a modern-day revival of film's greatest stars, this Spring, with a vintage celluloid season.

The Prince Charles Cinema, which is based in Leicester Square, is the West End's only independent cinema and will be showing classics such as All About Eve, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Mon Oncle throughout April and May.

Screen idols such as Bette Davis, Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor - who have long been considered gay icons - will all grace the picturehouse's silver screen as leading ladies of the selection.

The only non-subsidised repertory cinema in the UK, the PCC do not receive funding from the Arts Council, the Lottery or any other body.

A spokesperson told PinkPaper.com: "We recently completed a major refurbishment of the building, adding in a second screen in the upper levels of the cinema. This has enabled us to continue showing our great value classic cinema downstairs, whilst also branching out into showing brand new premium films upstairs."

All About Eve is screened tonight, 20 April, at 8.45pm.
